Peter was most interested in the stories raising philosophical issues, particularly those of morality and justice. He nurtured this interest throughout his childhood. He read Plato’s Republic at the age of fourteen, which ignited his passion for academic philosophy and learning. Peter graduated from Calabasas High School and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in philosophy from UCLA. He was the President of the UCLA Undergraduate Continental Philosophy Club and studied abroad with a focus in philosophy at King's College at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.

His work continued to develop his desire to help communities and individuals at the local level. As a Camarillo resident, Peter earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Ventura College of Law before passing the California Bar Exam.
